The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Rohaan, (1535 Ayr), 3pts win, 12/1:
This looks to rest between three old stagers in Summerghand, Albasheer and Rohaan. All three are very tempting but the classy Rohaan gets the vote. Last seen in a 6f handicap when easily winning at Royal Ascot last year off a 10lb higher mark. Hasn’t been at his best in Group races but as we saw in last week’s Portland, a group horse dropping back to handicaps can be lethal. A high draw could help.
Revich, (1315 Ayr), 4/1: a reliable type who is at is best near the pace bossing lesser rivals. Probably should have done better than a close third in this race last year, and off the same mark with everything in his favour should go very well.
Abduction, (1425 Ayr), 18/1: the Hollie Doyle ridden Wobwobwob looks much the best of the favourites and we would put nobody off him, but we might take a punt that the high numbers will have the edge as there is good pace under the stand rail, and if they go quick enough it could open up for a strong finisher like Abduction.
Cold Stare, (1645 Ayr), 4/1: Has dropped to a lively mark and is equally effective over 6f and 7f. Ran only yesterday when pipped in the 6f Bronze Cup here when pulling way clear of the rest. No reason why he shouldn’t back that up and this easy 7f arguably suits him better.
