Sunday’s Premier League fixture list kicks off with a potential classic, Arsenal versus Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.
Both teams have started the new season positively, this being the first time they both come into this fixture unbeaten since 1990, when the pair drew 0-0 at Highbury in the third game of the season. Arsenal have home advantage but the feel-good factor at Spurs means they will be full of confidence for the contest.
However, we’re not getting carried away by Tottenham’s start to the season – they have beaten teams you would expect them to beat, including Manchester United, and have conceded goals in the process. We think the Gunners will have too much for them, especially having comfortably dispatched PSV in the Champions League midweek.
The player who makes Arsenal tick is Martin Odegaard. The Gunners’ captain has already found the net three times in all competitions this season, including last time out against PSV, and that comes after 15 in 22/23.
Odegaard poses a threat from distance, and has also shared penalty-taking duties with Saka this season. We’ll take him to open the scoring today.
