It was gentlemanly therefore of initial picks Bjork (missed cut) and Wang (3 birdies on bounce to squeeze through cut) to mark this inaugural 10th Tee post as relevant as possible with their disappointing efforts in Malaysia.
No-one is yet out of the Maybank, with a crowded leader-board and a healthy market at 10/1 the field.
Lurking just two shots back, and with an outstanding record in this neck of the jungle, is David Lipsky. He has had two tidy rounds (just one bogey), and looks sure to contend, making the 18/1 on offer at Betfair sportsbook, with 1/4 the odds top 5, a compelling each way opportunity.
