Tuesday Races: Buble won’t get lost..

Yesterday we tried our luck with a Harry Whittington trained novice chaser at Ayr, and just as Star Tackle hit the front his jockey hit the turf.

Well we get the chance for compensation today when Harry sends another promising novice, Vinnie Lewis, on a shorter trip to Chepstow.

Vinnie is a three mile point-to-point winner who Harry gave a typically light hurdle campaign last year, but showed on his chasing debut at Bangor that he is cut out for this test.

That run gives him a marginal experience and fitness advantage over favourite Bandon Roc, and he can register a debut win under Rules.

In the following race we have to take on trust the fitness of Black Buble who was last seen throwing away a winning chance when unseating two from home at Kempton in May.

Trainer Tony Carroll runs a mixed flat and jumps yard and will have had his runners in full flow and the booking of Sam Twiston-Davies looked like a show of intent.

He is only a pound higher than that unlucky Kempton defeat and this looks a pretty weak contest.

We’ll back the double.

Recommendation:  Vinnie Lewis (1345 Chepstow) & Black Buble (1420 Chepstow), 1pt win double, approx 16/1
