Tuesday Yankee: Red hot Blazed…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Blazed, (2045 Newcastle), 1pt win, 11/4 generally available

Switched from Roger Charlton to the shrewd handicapping yard of Ed Walker.  Threatened to show huge improvement when a good third at Ascot on seasonal and stable debut having recovered from a stumble leaving the stalls.  That is the best form here, so any improvement for the run only boosts a winning chance.

Ravenswood, (1845 Newcastle), 5/2:  This is a relatively lightly raced runner in the context of this race.  As such there may still be some scope to improve and his runner up effort at Musselburgh last time was a lifetime best.  His mark has been left unchanged at a basement 49, and jockey Graham Lee rides this track very well.

Weather Front, (1915 Newcastle), 3/1:  is in the form of his life, such as it is, but a win and two places in the last 4 runs has seen his mark creep up just 2lbs.  The best two of those runs came at this track, and with jockey Jamie Gormley’s useful 5lb claim he is effectively running a few pounds lower.

Stoney Broke, (1945 Newcastle), 3/1:  has to beat two last time out winners in market leaders Belisa and Light Of Joy.  Both of those have suffered a weight hike and it may pay to chance Stoney Broke whose two course runs were her best ever with a win and a short head defeat. Trainer James Fanshawe’s runners usually improve for a run so she should be spot in here.
