Wednesday Yankee: It’s a Just cause…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Just Your Type, (1340 Newbury), 1pt win, 8/1 generally available

A tricky novice handicap chase on first glance but the bookies are placing a lot of faith in a 3 finisher race at Plumpton by putting the first and third there as joint market leaders.  That logic looks value to oppose, and the fencing debut of Just Your Type, in finishing within hailing distance of Festival winner Kilbricken Storm, looks at least as creditable.  Winner of a point to point he did well to win a hurdle race last year and has scope to be much better than his mark of 134.

Spiders Bite, (1435 Ludlow), 7/2:  ran really well in a nice race at Ascot last time on chasing debut. Was effective at this track when winning here over hurdles and need only find marginal improvement from Ascot to be a big force here.

Little Lady Liu, (1545 Newbury), 9/1:  a mostly unraced field of juvenile filies in a bumper can hardly breed confidence.  That said the well bred Little Lady Liu is coming a long early from Ireland to make her debut.  Add in the canny booking of top jockey Aidan  Coleman, andvit smacks is serious business.  Any market support might be telling.

Athollblair Boy, (1815 Newcastle), 3/1:  has consistent course form figures of 23441321216.  The last win was of 76 and he is just a pound higher here before accounting for his tidy young jockey’s 7lb claim. Last time’s 6th wasn’t a bad effort on return from a short break.
