Thursday Yankee: Flare to be in fashion…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Broughton’s Flare, (1830 Chelmsford ), 1pt win, 8/1:

Plenty of pace likely here with favourites Rapture and Human Nature both liking to get on with it and well drawn.  They could though set it up for a closer and Broughton’s Flare looks a likely type stepping back to the 7f trip over which he won in May.  Returned from a break with some promise over shorter trips, and can now deliver on that given the extra yardage.

Futuristic, (1800 Chelmsford), 5/4:  Forged clear impressively at Newcastle last week.  Looks well in under a 6lb penalty and if he is as effective at Chelmsford then he is surely a shoo-in turned out quickly.

Reine De Vitesse, (1930 Chelmsford), 5/2:  we’re big fans of Bardo Contiguo but there has to be a question mark over whether he can reproduce his good Ayr form over this different surface.  No such fears for Reine De Vitesse, and the form of her Lingfield maiden win last time looks potentially useful given the big name yards behind that day.

Zefferino,  (2000 Chelmsford), 4/1:  has one verdict for and against today’s favourite My Amigo in their last two runs here.  Has a 5lb penalty for beating that rival 3l here last week but was stretching clear late on there and provided they go fast again up front today he should have a great chance of repeating the late charge and the win.
