Sunday Yankee: Cello to strike the right chord…

It was good to land the big race yesterday at Cheltenham courtesy of a game effort from Happy Diva (14/1).  We fancy a similar long shot in today’s big handicap…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Torcello, (1500 Cheltenham), 1pt win, 14/1:

He has had a busy flat campaign for his new stable finishing with a flourish with three straight wins.  Gets in here off close to bottom weight, and being demonstrably fit, in form, and with the low weight he has a decent chance at a big price.

Colditz Castle, (1245 Cheltenham), 7/1:  an interesting contest with a favourite who looks a bit too short priced on his colours more than his form. Colditz Castle comes from a local yard that usually gets a winner here and has looked likely to enjoy more of a test of stamina which he gets today.

Urgent De Gregaine, (1315 Cheltenham), 5/2:   loves this course and soft ground.  Has had no chance against the mighty Tiger Roll when chasing him home at the last two festivals, but looks clearly the second best cross country chaser around.  Has a big weight but that often means less in these slow paced races.  Stablemate Diesel D’Allier could be the danger at a big price.

Politologue, (1425 Cheltenham), 6/4:  a four runner race but all have chances.  On quality it should be a duel and we do love Defi Du Seuil.  That said, Politologue handles mud very well and has won on reappearance in each of his four seasons jumping.  His runner up effort in the Champion Chase is the best 2m form on offer and he can better Defi who will be at his best over further and on quicker ground.
