Sunday Yankee: Email set to deliver…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Email Rose, (1320 Punchestown), 1pt win, 7/1:

Maiden hurdler steps into handicap company for the first time for the in form de Bromhead yard with an opportunistic booking of the flying Robbie Power.  Has run nicely in maiden races hinting at more to come and an opening mark of 116 looks very workable.

Big River, (1315 Kelso), 4/1:  a favourite of ours who stays really well as long as he doesn’t lose too much ground in the early stages.  Bombed out in a better race at Cheltenham last time, but has dropped in the weights and takes a big drop in class.  The 4m trip should suit, and although it’s a while since he raced here, he does have a course record of 112111.

La Bague Au Roi, (1400 Huntingdon), 5/2:  a cracking race in prospect between the top trio.  Top Notch should enjoy conditions and run close to his 161 rating.  Aso should beat him on official figures being rated 168, but that mark was earned in a Ryanair chase that is looking increasingly untrustworthy.  La Bague Au Roi has around 3lbs to find with Top Notch, but she loves to lead, should be able to dominate, and may be hard to pass under an aggressive Johnson ride.

Castafiore Park, (1450 Punchestown), 5/2:  mare who returned in great form with a smooth Down Royal win.  Has been hiked up 9lbs, but mares in form can improve substantially and she could well take another big step forward here.  The form of the Down Royal win is already being franked by efforts of those beaten and she looks ready to follow up.
