Saturday Yankee: Summer lovin…..

Nap Of The Day: 1345 Newmarket:  Summerghand , 3pts win, 5/1:

Watching this old blog favourite toiling away last year we felt he may never reappear as a selection.  But hey, the old boy has been generously re-rated by the handicapper and was an insanely huge eye-catcher when desperately unlucky here last time.  You always need a bit of luck in these races, but here is little doubting this veteran is flying and ready to win again.

1420 Newmarket:  Dutch Decoy, 8/1:

A cracking race in which the favourite Torito could be thrown in.  He has been a while off the track though and may struggle to match the proven form and fitness of Dutch Decoy.  He was another hugely unlucky loser at this track last time.  He always seems to run well and in early season and is value to get compensation with a win here.

1455 Newmarket:  Twilight Calls , 4/1

This blog is beginning to feel like it was copied from 2021 as another veteran gets the vote.  Twilight Calls likes decent ground and is often best fresh.  He has both of those in his favour here, add in a substandard opposition for this prize and he has a great chance to land a race he has placed in twice before.

17.15 Newmarket: Harry Did, 12/1

Reappeared when beaten a whisker in a blanket finish at Kempton.  Has to prove as effective on turf but is a fine big horse likely to improve now he goes up a bit in trip.  Travelled like a winner for a long way last time in a race which has worked out very well and should enjoy this decent ground.
