Thursday Nap: Harry can do the Hokey Cokey…

A fine day’s racing with a number of good looking prospects – check out our Thursday Yankee Plus to get the low down on a multiples approach.

A number of well handicapped types make plenty of appeal, but for the nap we are going to stay a little closer to home, and the yard of Harry Whittington.

Harry trains our own horse and is one of a number of fast improving yards in the jumps game in the UK.  His attention to detail has already proven successful when, after a terrible seasonal debut at Exeter, a wind op saw Hoke Colburn show dramatically improved form to win at Southwell.

That was a pleasant bonus as although that was his longest race to date, it has always looked as if Hoke would only improve for more distance.  He gets that today with a further step up to a trip in excess of three miles.

He has only just turned 6, and with our well worn scepticism about 5yos at staying trips, the inverse of that is to expect them to show improvement as they age through their 5th year and into their 6th.

Everything looks in place for a good run, he may not want it too soft, but Huntingdon is a quick draining track, and conditions should be just fine.

Recommendation:  Hoke Colburn, (1555 Huntingdon), 1pt win, 6/1 Bet365, BetVictor
