Premier League: Raheem and Ross

There are a couple of high profile games scheduled for today in the Premier League, starting with Manchester City hosting Southampton.

City have won all of their home league games without seeming to break sweat, and with Southampton struggling to offer any sort of offensive threat this could be another breeze.

The bookies agree, and the odds for City’s main threats are all shortened as a result. We’re going to side with slippery winger Raheem Sterling. He is reported to have verbally agreed a new contract with City, and this personal good news could translate into confidence on the pitch.

The second game sees Chelsea host Crystal Palace in what could be a fiery south London derby.

Palace have played very well against both Liverpool and Arsenal of late, but will find it difficult to raise themselves again to take on Maurizio Sarri’s confident Chelsea team.

One of the surprise packages of Chelsea’s season has been the emergence of midfielder Ross Barkley. The young Englishman has scored in each of his last three league games for Chelsea. With star player Eden Hazard likely to only play a limited period after injury, we’ll take Barkley to continue his scoring spurt.

Recommendations: Sterling and Barkley to both score anytime as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 9/2, Paddy Power
