Monday Yankee: Angel of the north?

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Alfie’s Angel, (1525 Redcar), 1pt win, 15/2 generally available

A low quality apprentice sprint looks a mad spot for a nap. That said, we know this bunch well, with favourite Vallarta often tipped here.  He now has 9 career wins after last week but has never previously won back to back. We prefer Alfie’s Angel for small trainer Karen Tutty.  He ran an excellent race at Ripon last time and his jockey Harry Russell has won 2 of 7 at the track.

Valentino Sunrise, (1235 Redcar), 9/2:  an interesting little race.  The eye catcher is Mick Channon’s mudlark Valentino Sunrise. He won well at Haydock under the always excellent  Nicola  Currie and she takes ride again.

Fire Brigade, (1505 Leicester), 7/2:  Has been threatening to land a good handicap all season, and is most likely to do so when getting some cut in the ground.  Jamie Spencer does the steering and he can land that elusive win.

Ventura Secret, (1600 Redcar), 15/2:  has been running over longer trips, but showed this 6f can suit with two fine runs at Carlisle.   Gets the effective Paula Muir in the saddle
